Holy crap! Or should I say, holy guano (bat feces)! Our website has gotten about 500 hits since Thursday! Thank you all so much! Again, our team really appreciates it. In our last post someone left a comment about other ways to help bats and the spread of White Nose Syndrome if you are not an avid cave goer. They also suggested to post a donation link. Below is a link to donate to bat research. https://www.supportbats.org/ Through all the research that is being done, there is one possible solution. Scientists have discovered a bacteria, Rhodococcus rhodochrous, that has been shown to kill the White Nose Syndrome fungus. Here is an article on it. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2015/05/150527-bats-white-nose-syndrome-treatment-conservation-animals-science/ Also, here is a TED Talk by Christine Salomon at the University of Minnesota about bats and white nose syndrome to give you more information. ---Team Wylde

Wow! Thank you guys all so much for leaving comments and filling out the survey! It really helps when you go to the tournament and you can tell the judges that you have gotten feedback on your project! Please keep asking questions and giving us feedback!!
Also, David had a question in the comments of our last post about how WNS affects other animals aside from bugs and bats. Bat guano (feces) is often the only food source for micro-organisms and invertebrates who live in caves, which in turn are food for fish, salamanders and other large animals. Thank you again for leaving and asking questions! Keep them coming! ---Team Wylde Our team is headed to the Minnesota State Tournament on February 25th!! It would really mean a lot if you could leave a comment so that we could improve our project before then!!!
